City of Saskatoon YWCA Women of Distinction Awards, 2016. Jeanette Lynes received the Women of Distinction Award in the Arts, Culture & Heritage Category at a ceremony on May 26, 2016. Congratulations to all the amazing women nominated!
Jeanette Lynes’ poetry collection, Bedlam Cowslip: The John Clare Poems wins Saskatchewan Book Award, 2016. Bedlam Cowslip, a collection of poems inspired by John Clare, won the Saskatchewan Arts Board Poetry Award in April, 2016.
Jeanette Lynes to present poetry readings at 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Canadian Poets & Musicians. Jeanette Lynes, along with poets Catherine Graham, Ian Burgham and Steven Heighton will present five readings of their work at the Scottish Arts Club in August, 2016. This is part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Canadian musicians Don Davis (Symphronica) and Daniela Nardi (Espresso Manifesto). This event is supported by the Centre for Creative Learning and the Canada Council for the Arts.
Shortlisted: Bedlam Cowslip: The John Clare Poems for two Saskatchewan Book Awards!
The Saskatchewan Book Awards shortlist was released on February 12, 2016 –
Bedlam Cowslip: The John Clare Poems was shortlisted for the Poetry Award and the City of Regina Book of the Year Award. Congratulations to all the shortlisted authors! The award ceremony will take place on April 30, 2016 in Regina.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: poetry reading and book launch with music at the Novel Idea Bookstore, 156 Princess St, Kingston.
Monday, Dec 14th from 7-9pm.
Reading that evening will be Carolyn Smart from her recently launched collection of poetry called Careen(Brick Books, 2015), Jeanette Lynes with the Kingston launch of her new collection of poetry called Bedlam Cowslip: The John Clare Poems (Wolsak and Wynn, 2015), and Jennifer Londry with a Kingston launch of hers called Tatterdemalion(Chaudiere Books, 2015).
Also included in the event that evening will be 2 short music sets featuring a local musician Bob Londry, and Kingston singer/songwriter Roger Dorey. I’ll be emceeing the event that evening.
